New Website

[note]I had a couple of weeks off over the holidays and decided to update the Association website. It’s not quite done yet, but I think it’s close enough for Government work. I’ll be making more changes and adding new features as I get time. The biggest addition is that the guestbook is back and this time, it’s completely in my control so I won’t hit any limits and won’t have to deal with the spam that killed the old one. Feel free to post to it. If you see any problems or errors, or have any suggestions please let me know. You can also add comments to this post below.[/note]

Desht (MM2) served aboard DD868 from 1968-1972. Am looking for Mediterranen Cruise Book, 1969 to replace my lost copy.

My new address (please correct on Roster): 315 West Monroe Street, Easton, PA 18042.

Martin, I was on the Bronson in 70-71, MM3. While in Newport, RI I lived off base on Bellevue Ave. with Mike Mullins and a few others. Just trying to revive some old memories. What was the CPO’s name. I remember him as a very thin, somewhat small man. I was assigned to the ship after leaving Nuclear Power School. Take care.

    Bruce,

From August, 1970 until I was discharged in December, 1971, I was no longer in B-2 Main Control but in R Division’s A-Gang, in Air Conditioning/Refrigeration repair. So I don’t recall working with you. Mike Mullins, however, I do remember. M Division’s CPO name was Wood who had a history of “bottle” problems. Once while in Newport and about to get underway that morning, he failed to prepare Main Control’s plant for lighting off. As I was in A-Gang but nonetheless on Cold-Iron watch that weekend, I was ordered to light-off Main Control’s plant since I had worked there for two and half years before being transferred to R Division. Never learned what happened to Chief Wood. Today, I’m still in contact with Paul Fuda (LTJG) who was Brownson’s junior engineering officer.
