Burial at Sea and Other Information
The Association was recently asked about the procedure for requesting a burial at sea. One of our members found the information on a web page called Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) About the Navy. This page is part of the Navy Office of Information website. This site provides a wealth of information about the Navy. I've added both the site and the FAQ to the links page of this site.

New Guestbook
I am testing a new Guestbook that supposedly will help to cut down on the amount of spam we've been receiving. The book may be a little flakey for a while until I get it customized.

Let me know if you have any problems.

Looking for Cruise Books
I received a message from Rick Dillard, OSCM(SW), USN, Ret. He is involved in a large cruise book project encompassing over 7,190 USN/USCG ship cruise books. He is trying to locate digital photos/scans of the covers of the BROWNSON cruise books.

He already had cover images of the 1954-55 and 1975 cruise books and I was able go send him the 1966-67 and 1969. As far as he knows, he only needs the 1974 cover to complete the collection. If anyone has a copy, he would greatly appreciate a scan of the cover. You can send it to me and I'll get it to him. Also, if anyone knows of any other cruise books in existence, please let me know.

You can send anything to webmaster@ussbrownson.com

Bounced Addresses
I sent out a message to the mailing list a couple of days regarding the company that is selling items with the Brownson logo. A number of the addresses I sent to bounced. If you are registered for our list and didn't get that message, it may be because we don't have your current email address. If that's the case, please send the update to webmaster@ussbrownson.com

Unauthorized Memorabilia Site
A number of members have received ads from Cafe Press AKA JJ-Enterprises, for Brownson memorabilia. This company IS NOT AUTHORIZED by the USS Brownson Association and we do not recommend doing business with them. We have requested in the past that they stop using the Brownson logo and they have refused. We are in the process of setting up an official store which should be operational in the next week or two.
