Introduction

Hi, and Happy New Year. Not a lot of new stuff this update, but every little bit helps to make our memorabilia collection grow. Ed Bledsoe has contributed a few more photos, Jack Richardson has addded to the history of "the patch" by sending a scan of one I've never seen before, and I've finally posted a brochure that Lyle Staley sent in a while back. I think I'm pretty much caught up now, so If you've sent in anything that I haven't posted please contact me.

This is my first attempt at sending a news letter in HTML format. If I've done everything right you should be able to read it even if your email program is not configured or able to view HTML. If you have any problem reading this drop me a line, let me know what program you're using, and I'll see what I can do.

New Brownson Memorabilia

Since the last newsletter we have received photos and other memorabilia from the following Brownson shipmates:

Website Changes

The roster and the Officers page have been updated and a new link to VetsRollCall.com has been added to the Links page. Speaking of the roster, I should point out that the on-line roster was created from the official paper version that Larry Gordon maintains but that there is no automatic method for mine to get updated when new members join. If you are a member of the Association and are not listed on the on-line roster let me know and I'll add you.

Contribute to the Memorabilia Collection

We would love to have you make a contribution to our growing collection of memorabilia. We can accept just about any form of electronic media. Ideally, photos should be scanned at 200-300 dpi, saved in jpeg format and zipped in a compressed file but just about anything will do. Winzip (www.winzip.com) is about the best compression program and is pretty easy to use. If you would prefer to send actual materials please contact me first.

That's about it for now. Talk to you next issue.
