Introduction

Hi. Hope everyone is having a great Summer and is enjoying the sunshine (at least, here on the East coast). As usual, this newsletter is later than I intended. Hopefully, it's worth waiting for. I've made some changes to speed up the process of adding new memorabilia and things should be quicker in the future, so don't be afraid to send in you photos, etc.

Reunion Update

Thanks to the hard work of Paul and Billye Serabian, the reunion plans are progressing well. The latest update includes an activities schedule.

From Paul Serabian ...

We are less than 9 months away from our 7th reunion. A number of you have reserved your hotel rooms, but very few of you have registered for the reunion. If you know you will be attending, we need your registration. If you are not sure, make that big decision NOW and register! The more, the merrier.

Just so you are aware, most of the expenses associated with the reunion must be paid in March. So the earlier you register, the easier my life will be! And it will assure you of a memorable visit to Southeastern Connecticut.

The buses must be contracted for during March. All activity registrations must be in no later than March 20, 2003, so that I will know how many buses will be needed each day. Remember, all activities are contingent upon a minimum of 40 people registering.

The tours of the Sub Base and the Coast Guard Academy are not finalized due to staffing changes, including a Change of Command, and scheduling problems. Remember, tours of both facilities are contingent upon world events between now and then and are subject to cancellation at the last minute. Additionally, EVERY registered person's name, address, date of birth, and social security number are required for this tour. I must provide this information to Base Security prior to the tour date. No additional names will be permitted once the list is turned in.

New Brownson Memorabilia

Since the last newsletter we have received photos and other memorabilia from the following Brownson shipmates:

Website Changes

I've replaced the old galleries with a new format. You probably won't notice much difference, but it's a lot easier for me to process contributions. In the past, this has taken a long time and is largly responsible for the delays in posting.

I've also revised the roster database to include addresses. If you would prefer not to have yours listed, let me know and I'll remove it.

New Email Addresses

The following addresses have been added or updated since the last newsletter

Contribute to the Memorabilia Collection

We would love to have you make a contribution to our growing collection of memorabilia. We can accept just about any form of electronic media. Ideally, photos should be scanned at 200-300 dpi, saved in jpeg format and zipped in a compressed file but just about anything will do. Winzip (www.winzip.com) is about the best compression program and is pretty easy to use. If you would prefer to send actual materials please me first.

That's about it for now. Talk to you next issue.
